A new scientific award for rising talents

Actively shaping the future of research into natural substances and medicinal plants is a standard we have been pursuing for many years as part of our research strategy. To this end, we have been expanding our collaborative projects with globally leading academic institutes. One central aspect of our long-term strategic focus is to leverage access to external scientific expertise in research, especially to the next generation of rising researchers in the field of phytomedicine. The objective is for us to continue to uphold our scientific benchmarks at Schwabe in the future as well.

This is why we are working with the German Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research to further expand the strong collaboration we already have. We will not only continue to offer the Dr. Willmar Schwabe Award to outstanding renowned scientists as we have since 1963; we are also going to turn our attention to the researchers of tomorrow.

The Dr. Willmar Schwabe Young Talent Prize, which is being offered for the first time in 2023, will be awarded to doctoral candidates and postdocs as a means of identifying and motivating talented young scientists to keep making significant contributions to defining the future of phytomedicine.

The honorees will be selected by the Society under the guidance of its president, Prof. Judith Rollinger of Vienna, who has already announced the award on the Society’s homepage: Dr. Willmar Schwabe Young Talent Prize
